Green Walk Plantation Bug Hunt

Our first seasonal walk took place at Royston Town Council’s Green Walk Plantation on Thursday. We were joined by Nick Beale, Countryside Ranger at Magog Down who helped identify the creepy crawlies we found on our ‘Bug Hunt’. He was pleased to see the logs and dead wood which had been left to decay as it provides the ideal habitat for a number of creatures such as beetles, woodlice and other insects.
 

Oliver, who came along with his mum, said ‘ The walk was pretty good, I liked looking at all the bugs and my favourite was the seven spot ladybird.’
