Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday 2023

As you will be reading this, Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday will be fast approaching. Our town like many other towns, cities and villages across the county will gather to remember those who have died in service to their country. 

Many months of preparation and planning goes into organising the day, as well as a significant financial cost. The service at the war memorial is well attended, but the parade element could do with more support. You do not have to have served to come and join the parade.

Armistice Day - Saturday 11th November. Service at the War Memorial on Melbourn Street 10.50hrs followed by a service at the 91st Bomb Group memorial in the Priory Memorial Gardens. 

Remembrance Sunday - Sunday 12th November. For those wishing to take part in the parade please arrive at the forming up point in Queens Road at 10:00hr. The parade steps off at 10:25hrs arriving at the War Memorial at 10:35hrs. The Service of Remembrance commences at 10:40hrs.
