The Village Penny Post
Saturday 13 June to Sunday 8 August

This exhibition, concentrates on the development of the mail services and sub post offices in the villages that relied on their letters being delivered and collected through the Royston postal service since the late eighteenth century. The villages initially involved were those in South Cambrigeshire and later those to the South of Royston. The exhibition builds on the 2008 exhibition ‘Delivered to your door’; which also described the introduction of the ‘payment in advance’ Penny Post service from Royston to the surrounding villages.
